The VARK Questionaire

The VARK Questionnaire is designed to help students identify the learning style that best suits them. After identifying your learning style, students can then look up certain approaches to learning, that if implemented may benefit them in their future studies.

I took the VARK Questionnaire and got the following results:

  • Visual: 3
  • Aural: 8
  • Read/Write: 2
  • Kinesthetic: 11
Suggesting that I have a mild Kinesthetic learning preference

Kinesthetic learners prefer to actually carry out a physical activity, rather than listen to a lecture. People with a kinaesthetic learning style are also commonly known as do-ers. Kinesthetic learners concentrate better and learn more easily when movement is involved.

This link shows more methods that strong Kinesthetic learners should use:

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator

The Myers-Brigg Type Indicator (MBTI) is an assesment designed to analyse how people perceive the world and make decision.

There are 16 MBTI types. After taking the test I got the result, ENTP. The summary of this type is:

"Quick, ingenious, stimulating, alert, and outspoken. Resourceful in solving new and challenging problems. Adept at generating conceptual possibilities and then analyzing them strategically. Good at reading other people. Bored by routine, will seldom do the same thing the same way, apt to turn to one new interest after another."

About Me

My name is Joe Owers.  I'm 18 years old and I am studying Business Information Systems at Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford.  I have chosen this course because I have always had an interest in, and been relatively succesful in ICT, and the business side of the subject is also an area that appeals to me.  However, I do not know exactly which field of work I am aiming for a career in once I have finished my degree, but hope to work out a more specific target as I progress through my course.
